Pharmacy Technician

Pulse Staffing has an exciting career opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician. Pulse Staffing is the premium provider of the highest quality health care professionals to many of the Houston’s top rated hospitals and healthcare networks.

We are looking for a hardworking, energetic, compassionate and experienced Pharmacy Technician to work in a hospital setting located in Katy, TX. This is a contract position with rotating day/night/every other weekend shifts. The candidate will be required to rotate from 3pm-11:30pm or 11pm-7:30am.

General Responsibilities:

·         Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts; removing outdated drugs

·         Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

·         Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions

·         Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information

Essential Duties:

·         Ensure the accuracy of daily charges and credits to the Pharmacy computer system and Hospital billing system

·         Ensure accurate and timely revenue capture and ensure data transfer between pharmacy and business services

·         Maintain tools to help scrutinize transactions for pharmaceutical services

·         Monitor pharmacy transactions and reports

·         Assist in billing, database management, auditing, and documentation of medications within the pharmacy system

Requirements for the Registered Nurse position:

·         Knowledge of current hospital and department standards for the handling of pharmaceuticals, literacy with computers, understanding of interfaces, healthcare billing and third party payers

·         Good verbal and written communication skill, time management, troubleshooting, and customer service skills

·         Texas Pharmacy Technician (TPT) Certification

·         Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Verification

·         Healthcare billing experience

·         IV certification

·         2+ years of Pharmacy Tech Experience

Primary Location: TX – Houston – Katy

Shift: Rotate Day/Night/Every other weekend – 3pm-11:30pm or 11pm-7:30am with over time opportunities

Pay: $20 an hour
